Fields with asterisks are required. Providing demographic information (optional) will help us understand where we need to do additional community outreach and will be kept completely confidential.

What you see below is a kit of parts with options for how visitors could use the park in a way that is consistent with the community’s vision. The parts can be combined in different ways to create a concept that will be the basis for later steps in the design process, including construction drawings and selecting materials, and provides flexibility for community members to share more input on park design at this stage. Please note that all kit parts can work with any of the creek alignment options under consideration.

Flexible Kit of Parts

Which kit part would you prefer to see in each section of the park? If there is something you would change about the part you picked or would you like to see something else entirely in that section?

Questions to consider as you are completing this exercise:
• How can the park serve the Lake City community inclusively and equitably?
• What is an appropriate level of impact on the park's natural features?
• What balance of amenities will create the desired nature park experience?
• Should public art be featured in the park design? If so, where and how can it be incorporated?

All questions and comments welcome!

Park Design Exercise

Example Park Concepts

We developed the below concepts using the kit of parts as examples of what the park could be. They are just two ideas, and your combinations using the kit of parts might be different. We’re looking forward to seeing what you create!

In the Solitude/Lower Impact Example:
• Fewer amenities provides lower impact on park resources
• Placement of new amenities is focused on areas of prior disturbance
• Amenities prioritize individual and small group experiences

In the Gathering/Higher Impact Example:
• More amenities allow more park users to enjoy the park at once
• Plaza amenities area focused on areas of prior disturbance
• Stairs and expanded trails provide a second entrance to the park
• Amenities allow for recreation by individuals, small groups, and large groups
